Dr. Zhang will begin seeing patients at OCB on August 11, 2025.

Crystal L. Zhang, M.D. is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in cornea, cataract, refractive surgery, and anterior segment diseases. She was born in China and grew up in Belgium and Charleston, South Carolina. She graduated from Northwestern University with full academic scholarship, where she majored in Art Theory & Practice. She attended Medical University of South Carolina, where she received Roper St. Francis Scholarship.

Dr. Zhang completed her internship at Grand Strand Medical Center and her ophthalmology residency at Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. She graduated from a fellowship in Cornea, External Disease, and Refractive surgery at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, University of Miami Miller School of Medicine in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. She is a member of American Medical Association and American Academy of Ophthalmology.

Before coming to OCB, Dr. Zhang practiced at Eye Consultants of Rhode Island, in Providence, RI, and was a surgical and clinical instructor at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.

Dr. Zhang is fluent in Mandarin Chinese. In her free time, Dr. Zhang is a foodie who loves to try new cuisine. She also loves to travel, especially visiting National Parks.
