Dr. Nikhila Khandwala will be joining OCB on October 19, 2026 and will be seeing patients at our Danvers and Framingham locations.

Dr. Khandwala joins OCB after completing her Glaucoma Fellowship at Duke University in Durham, NC. She previously completed her ophthalmology residency at Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary in Chicago, IL. A true “Michigan Lifer,” she earned her medical degree and Master’s in Physiology at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, along with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science and a Bachelor of Arts in Latin Literature.

An active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Glaucoma Society, Dr. Khandwala is dedicated to evidence-based care and personalized treatment planning for each patient. Her expertise includes laser procedures for glaucoma, sustained glaucoma delivery platforms, cataract surgery with multifocal intraocular lens placement, minimally invasive glaucoma surgery, and traditional glaucoma filtration surgery. She is also passionate about global ophthalmology and the development of sustainable health infrastructures.

Originally from Franklin, Michigan, Dr. Khandwala will be moving to Boston with her husband. Outside of medicine, she enjoys dancing, traveling, hiking, sampling new cuisines, and reading. She will provide glaucoma and cataract surgery care at OCB beginning in October 19, 2026 at the Framingham and Danvers locations.
