Dr. Kirstein graduated from Pacific University in 1978 with a Bachelors of Science degree in Vision Science and English He then earned his Doctor of Optometry degree in 1982 from Pacific University College of Optometry in Forest Grove, Oregon. He completed an optometry residency at the FDR VA Hospital in Montrose, NY. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and an American Academy of Optometry Diplomate in Low Vision.
Dr. Kirstein has published in Optometry and Vision Science, Contact Lens Spectrum, Optometric Education, and Optometric Economics. Dr. Kirstein practices optometry with a special interest in contact lenses and low vision.
