OCB physicians are asking patients to discontinue the use of EzriCare Artificial Tears, Delsam Pharma’s Artificial Tears, and Delsam Pharma’s eye ointment. due to reports of infections in several states caused by bacterial contamination of the drops. At this time, Massachusetts is not among the states that have had cases reported. Manufacturer Global Pharma produces all of these products and has initiated a voluntary recall. All other brands of artificial tears and eye ointments are safe to use. Patients who have signs or symptoms of an eye infection should talk to their eye doctor or seek immediate medical care.
