Dr. Liu earned her Doctor of Optometry at New England College of Optometry. While at NECO, Dr. Liu completed clinical rotations with honors at Boston Medical Center, DotHouse Health, and West Roxbury Veteran Affairs Hospital. Dr. Liu has extensive clinical experience with different ethnic, non-English speaking populations and socioeconomic groups in the Boston inner-city area.
Prior to moving to the Boston area from China in 2018, Dr. Liu earned her Bachelor of Clinical Medicine from Harbin Medical University and her Master of Science in Ophthalmology at Zhongshan Ophthalmic Center of Sun Yat-Sen University. In China, she was a licensed ophthalmologist and researcher who co-authored 17 scientific articles that were published in peer-reviewed medical journals. As a young ophthalmologist and scholar in China, she gained experience with high myopia, glaucoma, cataract, cornea, vitreous-retina and eye trauma.
She is fluent in her native Chinese Mandarin and English. She enjoys cooking, photography and hiking with friends and family.
