Dr. Hatton graduated from Boston College with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. He completed residency at Harvard Medical /Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary where he was selected Chief Resident and held the positions of Associate Chief of Ophthalmology and the Director of Eye Trauma. He remained at Harvard Medical / Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary to complete a two year fellowship in oculoplastic, and cosmetic surgery. He has been in private practice for 15 years and has performed more than 20000 surgical procedures in that time.
Dr. Hatton is board certified and his awards include election to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society, Merck Award, New England Ophthalmologic Society Award for best research and the Secretariat Award from the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He has authored or co-authored more than 50 medical journal articles and text chapters and has presented research at 20 national medical meetings. He is a member of the Massachusetts Medical Society and the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Hatton lives on the North Shore with his wife Mary, a Professor at Endicott College, their two daughters and their Australian Shepherd, “Larry”.
