Dr. Cindy W. Chao received both her MD and PhD from Harvard Medical School through a National Institutes of Health scholarship award. Following her Ophthalmology residency at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary,
Harvard Medical School, she completed her fellowship in Cornea and Refractive Surgery at the Moran Eye Center, University of Utah, Salt Lake City. Dr. Chao completed her undergraduate studies at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and received the Association of MIT Alumnae award for highest academic excellence.
Dr. Chao’s clinical focus includes cataract surgery. Dr. Chao also enjoys seeing pediatric patients in addition to her adult patients. She has published articles in numerous peer-reviewed journals and is well-versed in the latest ophthalmic surgical techniques.
Dr. Chao is on staff at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, South Shore Hospital, Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Milton, Carney Hospital, Good Samaritan Medical Center and New England Eye Surgical Center. Dr. Chao is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology
Dr. Chao speaks English and conversational Mandarin Chinese.
