Dr. Michelle Sandler received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, MA. She obtained her Doctorate of Optometry degree from the MCPHS University School of Optometry in Worcester, MA. Dr. Sandler then went on to complete a one-year residency through the New England College of Optometry, where she specialized in Cornea and Contact Lenses.
She has completed externships in many diverse practice modalities such as Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston; VA Medical Center in Manchester, NH; BostonSight in Needham, MA and Hazelton Eye Specialists in Hazle Township, PA.
Upon her graduation from MCPHS University, Dr. Sandler gained significant clinical experience as an optometrist in the greater Boston area. She specializes in general optometry, routine contact lenses and specialty contact lens fittings including corneal rigid gas permeable, hybrid and scleral lenses for aphakia, post-surgical and corneal disease such as keratoconus.
Dr. Sandler has been involved in clinical research studies and has presented in Optometry conferences throughout the country. She earned the American Optometric Foundation Award of Excellence In Contact Lens Patient Care, as well as the distinct honor of membership into the Gold Key International Optometric Honor Society, awarded to 10% of her graduating class.
Dr. Sandler is a member of the American Optometric Association, the American Academy of Optometry, the Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society, the aforementioned Gold Key International Optometric Honor Society and the Massachusetts Society of Optometrists.
