Voicu specializes in the diagnosis and management of cornea disorders and external
and ocular surface disease including dry eye, as well as glaucoma and cataract
care. Dr. Voicu, who is board certified
by the American Board of Ophthalmology, completed fellowships in cornea and
external eye diseases at the Doheny Eye Center at UCLA Medical Center and in
glaucoma at the Jules Stein Eye Institute at UCLA. She earned her medical
degree at Mount Sinai Hospital, completed her internship in internal medicine
at Albert Einstein Medical Center, and her residency at Duke University Eye
Center, where she served as Chief Resident and participated in several select
committees and advisory boards.
to joining OCB, Dr. Voicu was Director of Cornea and External Diseases at Vold
Vision in Arkansas, and was a mentor for the Vold Vision Anterior Segment
Fellowship. She has expertise performing many cornea care treatments, including
full thickness corneal transplantation, partial thickness corneal transplants
(DSAEK) and the newest, thinnest cornea transplant available (DMEK).
performs a full spectrum of both traditional and minimally invasive glaucoma
treatments and surgeries including SLT, iStent, Kahook Dual Blade, Hydrus, Omni, XEN, trabeculectomy, tube
shunts, and others. She also specializes in cataract surgery,
including laser-assisted cataract procedures, toric and multifocal lens
implants, and enjoys practicing refractive surgery. She practices dry eye
management and often provides consultations for patients with advanced and
complex dryness or ocular surface disease. She enjoys helping patients restore
their vision and has a specialty in the management of complex cases involving
corneal disease and glaucoma.

awards including the Sanford and Erna Schulhofer Endowed Fellowship for Cornea
and External Diseases at Doheny-UCLA, the Harold and Pauline Price Endowed
Fellowship, the Rosalind Alcott Endowed Fellowship for Glaucoma at Jules Stein,
UCLA and the Doris Duke Clinical Research Fellowship in Ophthalmology.
addition, Dr. Voicu has coauthored numerous ophthalmology scholarly articles
and book chapters as well as a textbook and has delivered educational lectures and
courses to medical students. Dr. Voicu is committed to providing high quality
eye care for underserved patients at home and abroad. She has volunteered her
services as a surgeon with the Virtue Foundation in Mongolia, volunteers locally
and sees patients through EyeCare America.
