Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston is seeking:
Experienced Ophthalmic Technicians
An Ophthalmic Technician is responsible for gathering important patient medical history; performing visual screening and diagnostic testing prior to the patient's visit with the ophthalmologist; and ensuring exam rooms are cleaned to provide a high level of patient care. Experienced ophthalmic technicians educate patients regarding all tests and procedures to be performed and reasons why; explain to patients what patients should expect from technicians' work ups and from the ophthalmologists. They complete a detailed patient history which includes: past medical history, family medical history, medication history and the chief complaint. We are seeking candidates for our Boston office.
Requirements for this position include: working knowledge of anatomy and physiology of the eye; understanding both the theory and the workings behind specific testing; and knowledge of systemic diseases and their impact on the eyes. Technicians must demonstrate excellent communication skills. OCB is seeking technicians who have achieved the following certification status: Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA), Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) or Certified Medical Technologist (COMT) and current CPR certification. (Alternative to minimum qualifications: non-certified ophthalmic medical personnel with at least 5 years experience as an ophthalmic technician.)
Billing Representative, 3rd Party Biller
Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston is currently seeking a Full-time Billing Representative to join our West Yarmouth Billing Office.
The position is responsible for the timely resolution of unpaid medical claims including A/R follow-up, denial resolution, payment posting and filing claim appeals for assigned insurance carriers. Provides a high level of customer service over the phone addressing customer claim inquiries.
• The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 2 years experience in all aspects of medical billing, including; collections, ICD9, CPT coding & 3rd Party Billing.
• Customer service experience
• Ophthalmology specialty billing experience desired
• College degree preferred
