Eye Pressure
The pressure in the eye is determined by the balance of the fluid (called aqueous humor)
coming into the eye and the fluid leaving the eye by the normal drainage channels (called
the trabecular meshwork). The aqueous humor is produced by the ciliary body, which lies
behind the iris (the colored part of the eye). The fluid then passes forward through the
pupil and exits the eye by a sieve-like drainage system (the trabecular meshwork) in the
angle between the cornea and the iris.
