 Biography Stephen A. Youngwirth, MD is a general ophthalmologist at OCB seeing patients in Cambridge. He attended the six-year biomedical program earning a Bachelor of Science in Biology at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York before earning a medical degree at Albany Medical College, Albany, New York. He trained in Internal Medicine for two years at Boston University Medical Center. He served as a Major in the United States Air Force assigned as a Flight Surgeon. Returning to Boston University Medical Center he completed a residency in Ophthalmology. A fellowship in Retina at Massachusetts Eye and Ear infirmary and OCB followed.
He is Board Certified in Ophthalmology and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology. He is a Fellow, American College of Surgeons (FACS). Memberships include American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, Massachusetts Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons, New England Ophthalmological Society.
Dr. Youngwirth is on the staff of Mount Auburn Hospital and Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary.
When not working he enjoys boating and flying.
