He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and a Diplomate in its Low Vision Section. Regarding Low Vision, Dr. Kirstein is currently working on a study with OCB's corneal and retinal specialists which concerns the value and safety of an implantable miniature telescope for patients with age-related macular degeneration.
